The Trust

Unlike many well-known American trusts, the Alfred I. duPont Testamentary Trust is not a general grant maker. The duPont Trust's primary beneficiary is The Nemours Foundation. Since its inception shortly after Alfred duPont's death, the duPont Trust has provided more than $1.9 billion to support The Nemours Foundation, which includes the Alfred I. duPont Hospital for Children in Wilmington, four Nemours Children's Clinics in Delaware and Florida, Nemours Health and Prevention Services and the Nemours Health Clinic, duPont's last legacy of health service to the elderly in Delaware.

The Trust's relationship to Nemours is fiduciary, not managerial. The Trust's mission and role is to prudently manage and increase its financial assets, to act as a steward of Mr. duPont's human services mission, and to support The Nemours Foundation in its mission to restore and improve the health of children.

The Trust directly impacts children and their families.
