The Alfred I. duPont Award for Excellence in Children's Health Care
In 2001, the Board of Directors of Nemours established the Alfred I. duPont Award for Excellence in Children's Health Care to honor Mr. duPont and his legacy of care. The award consists of a $50,000 award and an original crystal sculpture by Steuben Glass. The Alfred I. duPont Award for Excellence in Children's Health Care has been established by Nemours to:
- Honor Alfred I. duPont as the benefactor of Nemours
- Recognize one person annually who has made outstanding contributions to children's health care nationwide
- Promote continuing improvement in children's health care
The Alfred I. duPont Award is the first national level award recognizing an individual for outstanding contributions to the care of children. The award seeks to honor achievements in children's health care and to promote efforts by other organizations and individuals to focus on improving the quality of health care delivered to children.
